Community Pool

We will only be allowing members and Bally residents to enter the Bally Pool. Anyone, regardless of address, can purchase a pool membership, but if needed, we will limit the number purchased. If you have any questions, feel free to email poolmanager@ballyboro.org or message us through facebook.

Located in the Bally Community Park on the corner of North 4th Street and Chestnut Street, the Bally Community Pool has a charming family atmosphere for you to enjoy. Lounge chairs are available for guests and are regularly sanitized. Our snack stand offers cold drinks and prepackaged snacks. You are welcome to bring your own food (no glass containers) and your own chairs. The park also offers a 1 mile walking path and a small playground that families can enjoy in-between dips in the pool.

Pool History

The BALLY COMMUNITY SWIMMING POOL was constructed in the late Sixties as a private swimming club. The late Leonard Melcher, founder of the Bally Case & Cooler Company, donated land for the Pool. After several years of operation, the Pool was donated to the Borough by its shareholders in 1972. The Borough has operated the Pool since then as a recreational facility for residents of the Borough and the surrounding area. The Pool has been maintained by pool income over it’s life as a community swimming pool. It is now in need of more extensive maintenance. In 2017, the pumps, filter and plumbing for those items were replaced. A Rec Committee was formed to hold fundraisers to obtain the funds needs to replaster, tile and deck the pool.

It is the intent of Borough Council of the Borough of Bally to operate the Bally Community Swimming Pool for the enjoyment and safety of its’ members and guests. The Pool operates under the guidelines established by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources. The Bally Community Pool is a family oriented pool that offers enjoyment for your family from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  Season Memberships or daily rates are available for families or individuals. You do not have to be a resident of Bally to enjoy the Community Pool.  Membership forms are available at the Pool and at Borough Hall. The Bally Pool is surrounded by the Community Park, which has a playground, volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, picnic pavilions, and plenty of open space.

The Pool is open for Memorial Day weekend. The Pool operates seven days a week from the last day of Boyertown School, until first day of Boyertown Schools in August. Our hours of operation are 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. While school is in session, the Pool will be open on weekends only. Our Pool is geared toward families, with emphasis on safety. We do not have any competitive swim teams.
